return to symbiosis

Chaos theory deals with complex systems - like the weather, for instance. There is a well-known quote that a butterfly beating its wings can cause a hurricane halfway around the globe. That's because in complex systems, small changes can have BIG effects! I am still reading up on this topic - I don't claim to be an expert. But I *do* know that chaos theory has many practical applications (in economics, biology, ecology, meteorology, psycology, to name a few). I believe it is necessary to realize that we live in a very complex system, and that Chaos IS everywhere!

When represented visually, chaos can be quite beautiful. Below are some graphical representations of chaos.
